- Vaal dal - 1 cup
- Onion and karipatha (as shown)
- Khus khus, thill and coconut (blend together in to paste)
- Jeera - 1 sp
- Turmeric powder - ½ sp
- Red chilli powder - 3 sps (as per urtaste)
- Daniya powder - 1 sp
- Garammasala powder - ¼ sp
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Cooking oil - 2 tbsps
- Salt as per taste
Method:
- In a pressure cooker heat oil. Add jeera and fry for 1 min.
- Add onion and karipatha. Fry them for 3 to 4 mins.
- Now add the coconut paste and turmeric powder. Fry till the oil separates.
- Now add vaal dal. Fry it for 2 mins. Now add red chilli powder, daniya powder, garam masala powder and salt. Fry for 2 more mins.
- Now pour 1 glass of water and cook for only 10 mins in the pressure cooker.
- Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and serve with roti /rice.
